OSPEDALE SAN SALVATORE PESARO
2015-2016

Green hospital areas in Pesaro             Realized: 2014-2018              Garden surface area: approximately 2.400 mq

A hospital in the city centre in which during the years many structural works succeeded. The outdoor area, heart of the hospital complex, has been modified in 2015-2016 through the introduction of a HEALING GARDEN project, spread on the whole open areas.

Surfaces have been redeveloped through the introduction of natural elements, in terms of vegetal variety, paths, relaxing spaces and rest areas.

The project tried to safeguard as most as possible preexistent trees, introducing new green elements through soft, fluctuating and bloomed plants, besides seats, decors and paths combined with vegetation. It examined where possible, the accessibility and the paths, turning them into furniture elements and making them operational to the “healing” type, trying to contain at the most the costs of maintenance.

Other preliminary considerations have been accomplished on the basis of the state of affairs of accesses and internal practicability: as to this topic the project tried to limit cars passage only where necessary, converting roads into foot paths.

The use of herbaceous and shrub-like types didn’t bring just nature and color outdoors but they also reduced considerably the maintenance thanks to the covering types and mulching systems.
